This year’s Gubernatorial election is vital to preserving
our work in higher education and at Rutgers as we know it. Our collective
successful effort to restore Rutgers’ funding in the New Jersey State budget
helped URA members retain positions which were threatened and maintain
important programs.
But the fight is far from over and needs support from our
state legislators to help. For example, healthcare costs have been a
concern for many of us and without legislative assistance, we will face the
same issues of affordability and quality health insurance year after
year.
