Rutgers management is threatening the elimination of approved flexible work agreements, and the program overall. The University cannot unilaterally change the terms of the program without negotiating with our unions first. And more importantly, when we come together, we have the power to fight for better working conditions regardless of what our contract language currently says. Considering we will be beginning contract negotiations in a few months, now is the time to fight for what is important to us.
Join the Coalition of Rutgers Unions for an important meeting in which we will discuss our contract language, talk about what you have been hearing, share our demands, and decide on actions we can take collectively.
You and your colleagues coming together have the power to tell Rutgers management that flexible work arrangements are here to stay. And that’s not just for our own benefit – beyond the savings of time and money remote and flexible work can provide, most of us are being asked to do more work with fewer staff. Rutgers cannot afford to lose more good workers to short-sighted and poorly thought-out administrative decisions. Rutgers works because we do.
