The AFT NJ State Convention will be held on Saturday, April 18, 8 am-3 pm, Double Tree by Hilton, Monroe NJ.
URA members may nominate themselves, and members may nominate other members to serve as delegates to the AFT NJ State Convention. Nominations (of self and others) can be made via the Delegate Nomination Form – Fill out form by February 6 at 3 pm or at the membership meeting on February 9, 2026. Delegate nominees must be signed members in good standing.
The President plus the 33 top vote-getters will be the delegates. The remaining top vote-getters will be alternates. The candidates will be ranked by highest to lowest vote-getter for purposes of creating a list of alternates.
Should you be elected as a delegate you will be expected to:
- receive 100% reimbursement of allowable travel expenses.
- attend all business sessions of the convention, committee meetings as assigned, and educational workshops when they are offered.
After being notified by the Elections Committee that you have been elected as a URA delegate, you will receive further information about the State Convention via the URA-AFT Office.
