URA members attended the New Jersey AFL-CIO Women in Leadership Development (WILD) Conference on March 13 and 14 in East Brunswick. The annual event brings together women to learn from other women in varying professions and recognize how vital women are in all our respective workplaces and our communities.
“It is inspiring to meet women carpenters, plumbers, electricians and those working in other trades,” said URA-AFT President Christine O’Connell. “They face similar challenges we face as URA members.”
“Especially during Women’s History Month of March, consider recognizing the women in your life who have made an impact, small or large, and celebrate them,” said O’Connell. “Recognition is just the first step of celebrating women’s importance in history and is often overlooked, as are URA staff in our collective workplace.”
