The Good
Staff and elected leaders were advocating for funding Monday in Trenton.
We will continue to advocate for funding and support for high quality public education, research and community services we provide at Rutgers. We all need to do our part whether on the phone or in Trenton.
We often say, “when we fight, we win,” but each of us in the union needs to participate in order for our efforts to be effective.
The Bad
Funding for Rutgers in the state budget is dramatically cut and will results in catastrophic losses unless we turn it around.
The Ugly
Unless we move to improve the state budget picture, there will not be support from the Federal Government as the reconciliation bill moving into the Senate now takes matters from bad to worse for New Jersey students, colleges and universities.
