New Federal Administration Brings New Concerns

As the second Trump administration takes office, many of the recent executive orders portend new concerns and potential consequences that may impact our working conditions.  Whatever department or school you work for, these edicts may bring unforeseen negative consequences. Many URA members are funded by federal grants, in part or in whole, support students in EOF, Title I and Title IX work, advise and work for programs that serve disadvantaged and minority students, serve local communities in programs that support health and agriculture and environment, and our work touches every student and faculty member in a variety of ways too numerous to list.

At this time, we have not heard of any changes in Rutgers’ protocols or programming. We will continue to monitor and ask you to communicate if you hear of potential changes, whether rumor or reality, because you may learn of things before we officially do. It is vital to be proactive to protect our livelihoods, our families, our students, and our communities. Please Contact URA as you learn more or would like to share resources that you learn of through your personal experience.

We will continue to communicate actions and resources as they become available.
