Know Your Rights: Judicial Warrants

Know Your Rights

In the past months, URA members have attended Know Your Rights and Meeting the Moment trainings to learn how we can protect democracy, family and community members, and our students.

Concern for our students and our community’s safety from ICE intervention is our collective issue that we need to be aware of and prepared for just in case.

One of the important things we learned is the difference between a judicial warrant and an administrative warrant if presented. Judicial warrants, signed by a judge, are the only warrants that are legitimate if ICE comes on campus. Administrative warrants issued by ICE are not valid to gain access to our students and our campus.

Please take a moment to familiarize yourselves with the differences and if ICE approaches you on campus, call RUPD immediately.
