Have You Reported Back On The Valuable Work You Do?

take the survey

In order to support the important work we do, members are being asked to complete the URA-AFT Survey: Impact of Federal Policies and provide details about the nature and scope of our work including which agencies provide funding. If you haven’t yet completed the survey, there is still time to do so.

Here are a few of the thought-providing things members shared so far:

Does your work involve federally supported programs even if your salary is not directed funded by the federal government?

Our work often promotes and uplifts underrepresented, under-resourced, or historically marginalized students or groups, such as the Cultural Centers or the Dean of Students in the Division of Student Affairs. Our department also has a great number of work-study students who have become more and more important to our department as our budget has been cut and we have fewer and fewer spots left for full-paid students. (Cook Campus)

What type of work does this funding support (ex. research, programming, support services or a combination)?

(Multiple responses) Coastal Research and Outreach Programming |Programming for students in 3rd – 8th grade | Human Services training for state workers | Early Childhood Infant Toddler Specialist

What is your specific work?

Small business support services administrative coordinator (Newark Campus)

Additional details that might be relevant:

My work supports NJ SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) recipients and communities, schools, faith-based organizations, and food pantries with 50% or higher SNAP-eligible populations. My department’s work was just honored with the Rutgers Outstanding Service Award. (Off-Campus)

Is there anything else you are concerned about regarding recent actions by the Federal Government that you want us to know?

I’m basically concerned about everything going on. I’m especially concerned about the access to personal information the DOGE group has been given. (Off-Campus)
